Museum Entrance
Drawing published by Dr. Gustave Le Bon in 1885, Paris.

Two mythical lions of stone are guarding the entrance to Keshav Narayan Chowk, now the Patan Museum. The gilded door, the tympanon (torana) and the window above it are all embellished with gilt copper repousse works and inscriptions in 1854 A.D. (under Jung Bahadur Rana). Some thiry years later, this picture was published in Paris by Dr. Gustave Le Bon, engraved after a photograph he had taken in 1885 on his tour of India and Nepal.
