Subject:Chinese famille rose vase. Republic period?
Posted By: Tom Aspden Sat, Jul 06, 2019 IP: 146.200.64.196

Hi, I would like some opinions on whether this vase dates to the Republic period, based on the style of painting. Also I would appreciate it if someone was able to translate the inscription on the back, as far as I am aware it does not mention any cyclical dates by which the age could be determined.
Thanks for the any contributions,
Tom

Hi Tom,
Sorry, not Republican period IMO. Much later post 1970's.
The central figure and other looks to my eye to be a transfer print.
Decorative value only.

Thank you Mark for your judgement, however I must disagree over your opinion that it is, at least partially, transfer decorated. This may be due to the fact that you can only go by what you see in the images I posted above, but I thank you, nonetheless, for your dating of the vase.
Regards, Tom

It is brand new. The first poster was being gracious saying the 70's. Also, experts are on here answering your questions. I suggest you should not bother posting if the truth is hurtful.
