The character on your wall pockets resembles the Japanese 'Old Man' character in Noh play masks more than anything Chinese, in my opinion. Here is an embedded link image of the 'Old Man' misdescribed as a "Devil" in a 2020 live auction and additional links to other sales of Japanese characters portrayed in wall pockets.
