Posted By: Tony W. Fri, Feb 23, 2024 IP: 23.243.126.110 Was given this large framed kalaga , 80" x 46". Would really appreciate your insight on its cultural origin and period. |

Posted By: Robert Fri, Feb 23, 2024 I see a lot of comparables on the internet. They are historically Burmese (now Myanmar) but the modern ones, including yours, could also have been made in neighboring Thailand or elsewhere. They are mostly 20th or 21st century tourist/export items. |

Posted By: Bill H Sat, Feb 24, 2024 For comparison, here is a 19th-early 20th century kalaga from Burma (now Myanmar). My first thought on seeing yours is that it was made in modern times at one of the many antique copy fabrication shops at Chiang Mai, Thailand. |
