I acquired a porcelain dish. I asked in a group what the identification mark was. I learned that it is Kyoto Shofutei-sei sei Meji Period Export Kyoto-ware by Shofutei. Takahashi Dohachi Kiln. I am trying to understand how to officially describe this dish. Is it a bowl or a plate. I saw a similar one on an Etsy site which called it an ASIAN ORIENTAL KUTANI COBALT BLUE PLATES GOLD FLORAL PATTERN plate. It looks similar to my piece but not exactly the same. Any help you can offer me us greatly appreciated. I did not ask the helpful person who gave me the description I listed for an explanation - I feel very ignorant.
