Subject:Identification of the marks/characters
Posted By: Miano Mon, Apr 01, 2024 IP: 112.198.68.246

Kindly assist in the identification of the marks/characters and indicate which period it maybe attributed to.

The piece is as follows;

i.) Jun ware vase with characters on the body. *(6 Characters {Mark and Period}), more characters which might be a tribute.

Any further scholarly support/identification is welcome.

Kind regards,

Miano

late 20th/early 21st century. It's not what the characters say, it's the fact that only recent objects include such garish labeling. Even the Qianlong emperor, who defaced myriad art objects with with his inscriptions, had better taste than this, e.g. https://theme.npm.edu.tw/opendata/digitimagesets.aspx?sno=04018504&lang=2

as you noted, the glaze of this vase is similar to that found on some Jun ware; however, the inscription is calling it "Northern Song Guan (official) ware" which was quite different from Jun: https://tinyurl.com/mpk94vvw
