Subject:Chinese table date?

I bought this table in Hong Kong about 30 years a ago from one of the main antique stores. I love it but I have no information on it, so I'd be grateful if people could suggest its type (kang?), its approximate age, and the type of wood (southern elm perhaps?). It is solid, some joint widening/cracking with age (and central heating!). I can post more photos of the drawer and runners if required. Thanks for your time.
