Posted By: Stan Mon, Oct 28, 2019 The small size and poor quality of the photo make it difficult to be sure. When I blow up the signature, it is too fuzzy to read. My first guess is Hosai (1848 - 1920). However, it looks like there are 2 censor seals above the signature. If that is the case, it can't be Hosai because those seals were used in the 1840s and 50s (meaning that Hosai would have been very young at the time). Provide a high quality photo of the lower right, if you want a better answer. |

Posted By: Horst Grabner Thu, Oct 31, 2019 It's the rigth sheet of a bijin triptych by Kunisada I, here signing "Toyokuni ga". Print title is 浅草雷神門之光景 / Asakusa Raijinmon no kokei - A scene ate the Raijin gate at Asakusa. Publisher is Fujiya Tosuke, date 6/1856 and censor seals are Fuku and Muramatsu. |

Posted By: Stan Fri, Nov 01, 2019 Of course it is! When I blew the picture up, the pixilation prevented me from seeing the obvious. |
