Subject:Japanese Satsuma vase mark

Hi, I've had this vase for quite a while, and never known what the two characters on the left translate to. I know/assume the the two on the right say 'satsuma', but not the ones on the left I couldn't make out.

Right; 薩摩　-　Satsuma
Left; 竹劑　-　Chikusai
