Subject:Archaic Nephrite Dragon Incense Holder? Need Help Identifying
Posted By: Dave Sun, Apr 04, 2021 IP: 68.1.172.169 Hello, I have this archaic style dragon or pixiu carving that I believe is green nephrite jade as it appears to be a hard stone and not soapstone. The object measures approximately 5" tall by 10" wide. There is a small circular depression at the top where it looks like it might hold an incense stick, but I am not sure. Does anyone know what style or period this might be from and if it is indeed a type of incense holder? Any information or opinions are welcome. Thank you! |
