Posted By: Bill H Sat, Sep 25, 2021 This mark, which also is translatable in Chinese as "Mark of the Wang Dongwang Congregational Hall" (王東旺聚堂記 - Wang dong wang ju tang ji), is still in use. Here's a lot from a 29 September 2020 Chinese auction, on an identically marked "doucai" (contending colors) vase. |

Posted By: Peter Mon, Sep 27, 2021 Thank you very much for the information. Did I get you right, Bill, that it is more likely to find the mark on modern pieces? And is there a description in the chinese auction with some more information? Best, Peter |

Posted By: Bill H Wed, Sep 29, 2021 There was nothing concerning a date a date for the vase in the information given. Looks like a modern piece to me, based on the less than transparent colored enamels. Here are images of a small pair of early 18th century doucai cups, previously in my collection with apocryphal Ming Chenghua period marks and a more typical early Qing doucai palette. |
