Subject:Silk Painting For Text & Seal Translation
Posted By: Dave H Sat, Sep 25, 2021 IP: 172.83.40.109

This is the first silk painting I have got and I believe this is ink and wash. I'm hoping the text and seals translation will show who the artist is and possible a time frame of when this was painted.
The bottom seal on the left goes down and wraps around which makes me think it maybe a trimmed piece? All comments welcome, thanks to all in advance...

石梁掛瀑 - Shiliang Hanging Waterfall
囗上 雪汀 - 囗shang Xueting
(囗上 囗shang - probably courtesy name - I can't decipher the 1st character - Xueting is the artist's given name)
Upper seal,
雪汀 - Xueting
Lower (round) seal,
盧 - Lu - Surname

The lower half of the leisure seal (with the motto of the artist) isn't readable because it is folded to the back side. Leisure seals do not play much roles in identification - unless the artists are very famous.
Upper half of the leisure seal,
經謙
囗囗
The seal reads down and across from the right in two stacks as 謙囗經囗 - Modesty 囗 passes 囗

I can't find any clue to a painter with name Lu Xueting. The picture can be dated to the end of 19th and beginning of 2oth centuries.

The Shiliang Waterfall is located in the Tiantai Mountains, Zhejiang Province.

With regards,
I.Nagy
