Subject:Question re: artist and period of Chinese(?) painting
Posted By: Chris Mon, Jun 27, 2022 IP: 2600:8801:fb00:a16:3 Found and purchased this out of an estate about 15 years ago labeled as a "Japanese Woodblock," though upon inspection it appeared to be painting on silk. The subject appears to be a Chinese beauty contemplating a few butterflies. Measures approx. 15.5" (39.4 cm) by 6.75" (17.3 cm). Please pardon the glare in the first photo. |

Posted By: Chris Wed, Jun 29, 2022 Thank you Peter for both the information and the link. Not sure why, but I've never made the connection between the size of a 'canvas' and the medium, and thank you for the same. |
