Posted By: Bill H Sun, Nov 27, 2022 This censer has an apocryphal Ming mark of "Made during the Xuande Reign of the Great Ming Dynasty". The Xuande emperor was on the throne from 1426-35, during which period some of the finest bronze wares ever produced in China were cast. Your poorly made censer has a cobbled together form with a secondary casting of the mark that at best dates to the third quarter of the 20th century, in my opinion. |
