For Western communities, Chinese Gardens for Living envisions a rare opportunity to better understand the Chinese garden as a developing and sustainable system. A vivid display of artworks with their life contexts, the exhibition will juxtapose “Illusion” with “Reality.” The gallery itself therefore becomes a series of constructed “garden promenades” – visions, objects, dramas and facts – in such mixed spaces, the representation becomes part of the represented, and details can directly contribute to the whole — this is exactly that “Chinese Garden” used to imply.
