Overall height: 16 1/2”, figure: 12 3/4”
Japanese Edo period Mingei sculpture of Seitaka Doji

Seitaka Doji is one of the attendants of the wrathful Deity Fudo Myoo, a manifestation of Buddha Vairocana. He has 2 boy attendants, the disobedient , wicked Seitaka Doji, and the Obedient and meek Kongara Doji. Seitaka Doji is portrayed with a staff and a vajra. This vigorous sculpture has naive elements that indicate it can be qualified as a piece of Mingei or popular sculpture.
