by Symon on Friday, November 17th, 5:30pm to be opened by Carroll Dunham Wild Earth Exhibition continues till Nov 26th Wild and colorful canvases, pulsing with Nepali culture - robust Mahals bedecked with carefree Babars, Swayambhu in 1970 and 30 years later, and other forms of exuberant urban life and edifices. Symon, the artist, lived in Kathmandu from '68-76, before shifting to Bali where he has gained prominence as a leading artist with his own atelier and his bright melange of pop art, landscapes and cityscapes. We are pleased to welcome Symon back and to bring his work to the Kathmandu audience. We guarantee you an original touch. Symon brings a fond eye and vibrant joy to what we might experience as a chaotic Kathmandu context, and a celebration to the holy Muktinath and surrounding Mustang valleys. It's a fitting time to try on a new lens, to see our surroundings with their creative auras aglow. Come and enjoy "the New 'Du"! |
