Subject:Please help ID Mark on tall vase ~ Thanks
Posted By: John DeGiacomo Tue, Apr 01, 2014 IP: 96.246.120.213 Just got this beauty in and would love some info on the mark on the bottom. Very large vase, approx 48 inches high. Mark is in red ink and is about 1 1/2 X 1 1/2 inches. Please excuse my ignorance if mark is not in right orientation. |

Posted By: mike05 Wed, Apr 02, 2014 it says made in Qianlong(1711-1799) time. but it's quite likely way after that time because of the way it's written . |

Posted By: Kim Wed, Apr 02, 2014 Gorgeous! Not sure what the mark says, but orientation would be the "pitchfork"-looking character starts at the top right (give it a 1/4 turn clockwise). I believe it means "In the reign of..", or something to that effect. Sorry can't help any further. |

Posted By: Bill H Thu, Apr 03, 2014 This is a rose medallion-style transfer-decorated vase from one of the Hong Kong or Macao factories with an apocryphal six-character Qianlong stamped mark. No older that the third quarter, 20th century. |
