I would be grateful if someone on the forum to tell us what this is for the vase. It is not made of porcelain, but by a kind of stoneware. Height of vase is 47 cm.

Looks like a nice late 19th c. Chinese famille verte porcelain vase to me.

The thick potting and rough foot might make it appear to be earthenware. Set the vase on a table and flick the top of the vase with your finger, it should give a clean ring provided their are no cracks or repairs. Earthenware would be a dull thud like sound.

Thanks for the enlightenment. I'll see if I can clean the vase as you say I should do. Maybe I can get away soil around the opening of the vase.
