Posted By: Stan Thu, Apr 24, 2014 The artist is Ikkeisai Yoshiiku (1833-1904). Your print is from a series of Genji prints. The genji mon (see link) in the 3rd picture and the number 12 make me think it represents the 12th chapter of the book; Tale of the Genji (Genji Monogatari)). |

Posted By: Guy Fri, Apr 25, 2014 It's print #12 of a chuban format series 'Genji gojûyon jô' (Folding book of the 54 chapters of the Tale of the Genji), signed 'Ikkeisai Yoshiiku' and published in Tokyo in 1871 by Yoruzuya Magobei. The series was originally issued on a oban sheet of paper (cfr example) that was cut in 1/2. |
