Would anyone care to assist me in translating the inscription on the ancient bronze plaque??

Many thanks in advance

Robert

not a plaque but an inscription in archaic style on the bottom of a bronze vessel imitating Shang/Zhou era bronzes, this one seems modern though I'm afraid.

Thank you for your response. Yes,I stand corrected it is from the bottom of a bronze vessel.

What leads you to believe that it is a replica ?Can you translate it ?

Thanks again
Robert

Hi,
As usual on bad fakes, the writing is in excellent condition and the rest is badly corroded (by acid).
In any case the corrosion on the bronze is not natural.
Sorry but no need to spend more time on this piece.
Cheers

you are right, the exterior sides look convincingly detailed. I'm not convinced of its authenticity from your photograph however. Some of the inscription is not hard to read but a translation is too involved a project for me at the moment, particularly in a free forum. Super may come to your rescue. The oxidation etc seems conveniently absent from the inscription, so that is helpful in sparing it from obscurity.
