Subject:Unusual Foot rim on Imari Lobed Bowl
Posted By: Garrett Sun, Jun 22, 2014 IP: 76.92.125.246

Hey guys

I picked up this small Imari bowl the other day for 4 bucks. The design is common but the foot rim perplexes me. It is unglazed but glazed in the center where it is caved in. I have seen this type of foot rim on some Kraak style porcelain but never Imari. If anyone has information about this then I would love to hear it. Thanks in advance.

Dear Garrett,

You can see this type of foot rim on Imari porcelain which was made in Late Edo - Meiji period.(1850-1910)

Hope this help.

Regards,

Hiro
