Subject:Marks on Watano Kuchiji Tea Jar
Posted By: Mark Sat, Nov 22, 2014 IP: 72.224.3.253

Hello, thanks to some expert advice I've learned so much about my Tea Jar made by Watano Kuchiji but i still have some more Japanese characters that I've found and was wondering if anyone could help me out with translating them, both of the next pictures are on the mouth of the Jar and the last picture is just the whole Jar, also does anyone thing this is a common piece or something definitely worth being appraised.

Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mark

Such markings don't comprise signatures but appear to serve a quality control function. These consist of the numbers six and two (六二), which may bear some relationship to the size of the jar's mouth and its cover.

Best regards,

Bill H.
