Subject:Unknown large bowl - burmese??

Hi all

I have been trying to identify this bowl with no success. It is very large measuring approx 50cm wide. It is solid brass or bronze and weighs over 10kilos.

The top plate can be removed leaving just the bowl itself. It is very unusual and definitely has age - I just cannot work out where it could be from or it's use? Any Information would be welcomed - thank you
