Posted By: adam Mon, Jan 12, 2015 I disagree victor...Jade rarely calcifies to a black in nature. This was likely done in a ming staining workshop using heavy metals like mercury and lead.... The staining workshops workers (Like jade carving craftsmen prior) was a rank passed from father to son and a good stainer was at least as highly regarded as a good carver |
