Posted By: Bill H Thu, Apr 30, 2015 This vase has a scroll design featuring bottle gourds, also called "double gourds". Gourds of all kinds are popular because of the many "seeds" (pronounced "zi") they carry, symbolizing a happy marriage which produces lots of "male offspring" (also pronounced "zi"). The bright colors on your baluster vase are typical of those on Chinese wedding gift wares. |
