Subject:Please Help? Chinese? Japanese? Japonsime?
Posted By: Maggie Tue, Aug 25, 2015 IP: 84.73.42.58

They were purchased together in Switzerland on the border of France...one of them is some sort of buddhist (?) diety and the other is a temple. I thought them to be Japanese but the signature as shown in the third picture doesn't seem to be Japanese characters. The diety seems to be holding lotus flower and has a Suavastika on her chest.

Any information you can provide would be very helpful? Origin? Date? Technique? Medium?

Thank you everyone for your time.

Woodblock prints or reproductions thereof, probably contemporary Chinese for the tourist trade as the pagoda seems very similar to the Longhua pagoda in Shanghai.
