Subject:Vase symbols
Posted By: Eric Thu, Nov 05, 2015 IP: 97.45.130.80 Can anyone help me with the symbols on this vase or any other information you may have on it. I love the vase and want to know what the markings mean? Thanks so much! :) |

Posted By: Bill H Mon, Nov 09, 2015 This mark reads down and across from the top left as "China Longquan" (Zhong-guo Long-quan). Longquan is a Zhejiang Province kiln area that historically produced a famous type of crackle-glazed celadon. Your item appears to be celadon, but like the mark, is contemporary. The website gotheborg.com shows a more legible rendition of the mark, which is applied by stamp or decal. |
