Subject:Cat Drawing

I would appreciate any help one could offer regarding the artwork in the two attached photos. I believe it is an ancient Chinese ink drawing. It measures about 3 feet long by 2 feet wide.
If anyone can decipher the writing (enldarged), what does it say? How old is this drawing and from what region? Is it from a particular dynasty? THanks, John

I think your tiger is Japanese...

Good Japanese or Korean picture of a tiger rather than a cat that seems to have been cut down a bit from a hanging scroll before it was mounted with these borders, or perhaps for framing. These were a pretty popular subject, often paired with a second scroll of a dragon. If Japanese, one of the experts here may be of help identifying it.
