Subject:Japanes or Chinese plate

My mother bought 55 years ago a large plate and 12 small plates - see picture attached.
I need help with the mark on the plate. The mark is on the glasure , in red shiny paint.
I wonder when the set of plates was made, where, what is its value and what the mark means.
