Subject:Vase With Pair of Cranes

Purchased this as I appreciate the imagery of cranes and their meaning (long life, harmony and wisdom isn't a bad goal, when you think on it). Anyway, there's a small inscription on the bottom, and I would greatly appreciate any thoughts as to its meaning. The pictures aren't great, but the vase has seen some wear. It's about 7 1/4 inches high, heavy but somewhat rough-feeling glaze. Any thoughts as to origin, age and translation of the inscription would be appreciated. My thanks in advance.
