Subject:Quan Yin statue
Posted By: david p Sun, Oct 09, 2016 IP: 99.243.2.251 Hello, Can someone please tell me if this Quan Yin statue is jade or agate; it has some oxidation spots in a few areas; has a good weight to it and is pretty hard and doesn't scratch. Any assistance with this query would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! David P. |

Posted By: Bill H Tue, Oct 11, 2016 Further to my initial comment, here's a link to a jadeite "beauty" (meiren) carving offered by a well-known eBay seller. The colors are more diffuse than in your Guanyin, and the darker areas help identify the stone as natural. |
