Subject:Need Help Identifying Japanese Carved Porcelain Plate

hi everyone. i found this plate today. i thought it was interesting. the plate measures 10 inches across. i've never seen anything quite like it before. the artist appears to have carved out the image of a Tiger and then applied glazes to highlight the carving. i'm guessing it's mid-century Japanese. i was wondering if this sort of carved porcelain is a known art form in Japan. if so, what's it called? also, does anyone recognize the artist's mark? basically, i'm hoping someone out there has any information regarding this plate...thanks,
