Subject:Satsuma Brooch Help,
Posted By: Jim Tue, Jun 04, 2013 IP: 71.90.174.252 The pictured brooch, (Meiji ?) is 1.6 inches in diameter, appears to be silver, and has what seems to be a Shimazu mon stamped on the back. My main concern is: who is the lady shown with two rakans or holy men? She is holding a covered dish (or what?) I've never seen Kannon/Quan Yin with short hair, so help with the identity of this lady is much appreciated along with any other observations. Thank you, Jim |
