Message Thanks so much for these great closeup shots. I don't think this is by Qi though, who could paint animals and insects quite precisely, at least in his earlier years. Here the inscription states that he was 84, though by then he had a whole army of painters working on his behalf, turning out pictures in his style that he (or they) would sign. This may also simply be an imitation of Qi's work; these are legion. I'm sure your wife will appreciate your thoughtfulness though (unless you spent the next mortgage payment on it!)
