Message Auction houses will usually give a free estimate upon request. But if you mean a formal written appraisal for insurance purposes, it may not be worth it. While is a nice piece the current market for most Japanese ceramics is very depressed. It appears that wealthy collectors now are looking to buy Kamakura or earlier stonewares, Mino wares from the Momoyama period, fine ko-Kutani and Nabeshima wares from the early Edo period, and a few of the best examples of Meiji period Satsuma from the workshops of Yabu Meizan and Kinkozan, as well as works from the modern Japanese masters.
