Message Kent: If you haven't found out yet who really knows their origin, suggest checking on wood carving from Java & Bali since one of spoon handles has Arabic (Islamic) words. Indonesia is mostly Moslem and both islands have a rich wood carving tradition. Malaysia too. The style reminded me too of Thailand but they don't have Islamic culture there to my knowledge. Otherwise, northwest India (near Kashmir) and Pakistan would be a distant 2nd guess. Post a Response |
