Identify Japanese painting on silk |
Posted By: Jim Lewis Posted Date: Jan 25, 2007 (09:09 AM) |
Message This is one of two paintings (in ink?) on silk bought by my family while we lived in Japan in the early-to-mid 50s. Pic 1 is the painting. The second is the signature and seal. I'd like to hear from anyone who can tell me something about this picture. The other painting we have also is a monochrome painting of a Japanese thatched house and a larger building (with a waterwheel) on a canal or stream bank. There's someone fishing in a small boat in the canal or stream and a couple of pedestrians wandering by on the bank. Many thanks for any help you can give me.
