Japanese artist Muramasa Kudo draws on the ancient art of calligraphy and meditative Zen philosophies to create fluid works that evoke the simple beauty of daily life. Kudos personal belief that life is art clearly guides his practice. Working with combinations of sumi ink, water color, and colored pencil, his compositions depict women engaged in various common activities such as reading, reclining, and washing. Kudos mastery of the line directs our attention to the graceful splendor of the female form as she moves through the everyday world. Kudo began his practice of calligraphy as a child, winning a number of prestigious international awards by the age of fourteen. Attracting a variety of royal and celebrity patrons, Kudo has displayed his creations extensively throughout Asia and the United States and has contributed works to several charities, including the Childrens Diabetes Foundation and the World Hunger Project. Muramasa Kudo currently works and resides in Marina Del Ray, California
