Message Definately not Han, this lion with cub is later period, Qing to modern. The modern replica of ancient jade art in the market, they like to stain the eyebrowns, hairs, incised line with black paint, asphalt, black dry ink etc.. However, the craving is nice. The figurine is in good proportion with details of muscle, claws, curled tails, ribs and hair. Looking at the picture, it has shade of lavender, since lavender nephrite is rare and expensive, I think it may be chalcedony which is harder and cheaper than nephrite. Nobody can price jade art, it is up to satisfaction of both buyer and seller. And buying jade, personal handling is a "must". Post a Response |
