Identify marks on Japanese Woodblock Print |
Posted By: Ruth Kelly Posted Date: Jul 08, 2007 (04:42 PM) |
Message I would be grateful for information on these marks. The ones in black appear on the front of a woodblock print and the octagonal one appears on the reverse side of the same print. It depicts three sumo wrestlers in robes and the signature appears to be that of 17th Century artist Shunsho Katsukawa. The print appears to be 20th Century. I would like to find out the date of manufacture and any other information you may be able to give me based on these photos. Post a Response |
