| antique chinese table screens - alabaster or jade???? |

Message I have a set of 8 very old chinese table screens. They measure 20" high by 7" wide. They are framed with wood and are hand painted of a wedding type scene. The material they are painted on I was told was alabaster, but I think it might be jade. My question is; did the Chinese use alabaster for this purpose or at all?, I cannot find anything chinese made out of alabaster online. I'll be adding pictures shortly. Many thanks, Post a Response |
