Message Hello Peter, The text, to be read from left to right, says: "Da Qing Qian Long Gang Yin Nien Zin Zao" Translation: "Made during the Gang Yin year of the great Qing Qianlong." The Gang Yin year during the Qianlong's reign correspond to 1770 AD of our calender. Quite a lot of those statues were produce during the Qianlong period, specially for his 60, 70 and 80th birthday. As mentioned by Gert, they are normally smaller, around 20cm high. The missing piece in the hands should be a bottle. Hope this can help, Best regards, Pierre. Post a Response |
