I am not sure I agree with everything this message says in regard to jades although many of them are correct but they are just too generalized and without any references to support some of the statements. May be the writer would describe each function of jade in more details and with references then I believe it would beneift the jade collectors more.

I was quite puzzled with his/her statement:

"The main function of jade article is always for decoration."

I do not understand how such statement is arrived and what period of time in China it is supposedly applied to. I do not know what "article" truly represents in his statement. May be he can clarify in further messages.

If the web site he/she posted here is truly a site owned by him/her as a dealer, then I have to agree with Anita that most of the items for sale seem to be highly supsicious. Some of them do not look like even made of jade. The Hongshan apollo (sun god) is absolutely fake. In short, it puzzles me once again if such a person who seems to be quite knowldegeable with jade would display such "awkward" jade articles on his/her web site for sales and did not even dare to post their prices. That is quite peculiar and therefore let buyers beware.

The above is only my personal opinion and should only be taken with a grain of salt, no different than any other opinions posted in this forum.

Thanks.

Bill
