Jade Statue from Ming Dynasty |
Posted By: Jim Veasaw Posted Date: Nov 18, 2008 (10:07 AM) |
Message This statue has been in our family for many years. It was a wedding gift for my Mom and Dad from my Dads Aunt who worked as an asian art dealer with the Museum of Natural History in NY back in the 30's and 40's. I've been told there is a similar statue acquired at the same time that is now located there but we have never seen it during visits. The statue was dropped years ago and the head broke off. It was professionally repaired but I'm sure is worth less. There are no markings on the bottom. We're trying to get this piece appraised for possible sale. Any guidance to get this done would be greatly appreciated. Post a Response |
