BACKSTAMP |
Posted By: S Chapman Posted Date: Dec 11, 2008 (08:17 PM) |
Message Can anyone help me identify a backstamp please? The item in question, and I'm no expert, is what I believe a biscuit barrel/ginger jar? The lid is edged with beautifully carved brass. There are hand painted flowers to its design and the backstamp consists of a diamond shape that crosses/extends over each corner and there is a fancy letter 'A' with a scroll above it in the centre of the diamond shape. There is also the number '12' etched around the edge of the bottom part. I would be grateful for any help. Many thanks. If required, I can take a photo and post it on this site. Post a Response |
