Identification of Chinese Urns |
Posted By: tony bonn Posted Date: Mar 12, 2009 (05:24 AM) |
Message these may have been souvenirs at one time for someone - actually it sounds like they still are in a way. however, they are authentic chinese porcelain jars with lid made c. 1900 give or take - late qing. i would also not argue with someone who dated these a few years later. they are nicely done and certainly collectible but not of the highest quality - and that is no pejorative. although they are decently paired they are not an exact matched as you note the differences in the neck diaper. however they have their lids which does count for something. someone else might be able to state the significance of the decorative vignettes and enameling style.
