Chinese promotion scroll in Manchu and chinese |
Posted By: Robert Abbott Posted Date: May 20, 2009 (09:19 AM) |
Message Dear Sir/Ms.: I recently inherited a Chinese scroll that is 12-feet long and 12.5 inches wide. It has a long history in my family. A Chinese colleague at work said that it was written in Traditional Chinese and from the Qing Dynasty. It also had sections written in Manchu and was about the promotion of an important person by the emperor at the time. There is a large red seal/stamp on it. I would like assistance in having it appraised and possibly arranging for it to go to the ancestors of the person that the scroll is about for a museum if appropriate. Please call me at 415-847-1777 if you have any suggestions. Robert R. Abbott Post a Response |
