I am requesting information on behalf of an old family friend.
She has been left a beautiful old teapot, which was a gift to her grandfather during WW1. She believes that the teapot is Japanese, from Kyoto. But she is unsure whether or not this is correct.
Her grandfather lived in Adelaide, Australia prior to going overseas to serve in the war. He spent time in the UK & the Middle East. It not clear when, where or from whom her grandfather received the teapot.
She mentioned that her family during her grandfather's time were quite wealthy and were quite involved in government and trade.
ANY information about this lovely teapot - the photos really don't do it justice - and approximate age would much, much appreciated!
