Shin Hanga painting - Can you help ID artist? |
Posted By: Tim Posted Date: Jan 17, 2010 (06:57 AM) |
Message I'd like to know who the artist is for these paintings. Visit link for photos. http://www.flickr.com/photos/23676403@N07/sets/72 157623102669343/ These paintings have titles painted along the edge, 'Lake Biwa Shiga, Japan' (painting without the large red templ), and 'Isake Shiga, Japan' (altough there is a worm hole just before 'Isake', so there could be another letter that is missing). Each measures about 19" wide by 16" tall, but the edges are a bit folded. There are also reminents of paper on the sides that suggest the paintings were mounted as horizontal scrolls at some time. Thanks for the help. Post a Response |
